Editorial Standards

1. Sourcing and Provenance

Every piece of domain data must have a verifiable source. We do not accept unverified anonymous tips as factual evidence. Information aggregated from databases is treated as "Reported" until corroborated by original documentation.

2. Allegations vs Convictions

DarkFeed distinguishes strictly between allegations, charges, and convictions. Individuals must not be described as perpetrators of crimes without a formal conviction or definitive historical consensus, unless quoting an explicitly cited source.

3. Victim Respect

We do not glorify offenders or exploit victims for engagement. Victim information is treated with dignity, focusing on the facts of the case rather than sensationalized details.

4. AI-Assisted Content

AI pipelines (such as Gemini) are used strictly as a summarization and structuring tool. No AI-generated claim is automatically published to the public feed. All AI outputs start in a "Pending Review" state and must be manually verified and approved by human editors before publication.

5. Corrections and Disputed Information

We actively encourage community correction of disputed facts. If a source is found to be unreliable, it will be flagged or disabled, and associated claims will be re-evaluated. Corrections are published transparently on the timeline of the affected case.

6. Image Provenance

Media candidates discovered via external sources (e.g., Murderpedia, Wikipedia) retain their original Source URL. We assign a default "Unknown" rights status to these images. DarkFeed does not claim ownership or redistribution rights to public media unless explicitly established.
